St. Aidan's Library

  • The Library at St Aidan’s was fully re-furbished in 2009.

  • It is a popular, quiet space in the college.

  • All students are automatically registered as readers from the moment they enroll at St Aidan’s.

  • Classes are brought to the library once a week to read and use the library’s facilities.

  • Every effort is made to provide a wide range of reading material to satisfy all interests.

  • Students are surveyed regularly to ascertain desirable titles when new books are being purchased.

  • The Library employs an electronic bar-coding system which ensures an accurate and efficient system.

  • The Library provides a friendly, welcoming space where students can enjoy a little bit of time out.

  • Exhibitions and projects are regularly displayed in the library.

  • The library is also the focal point for many of our whole school literacy initiatives such as paired reading, word millionaire, book in the bag, blind date with a book and book club.
